Basic Knowledge of Air and Piping: Air Cylinder
Explanation of the operation methods of double-acting and single-acting cylinders! Introduction to the structure of air cylinders.
Devices that operate and perform work using compressed air are called air actuators, among which the cylinder performs linear motion. There are two types of operation methods: the "double-acting cylinder," which operates in both directions using air, and the "single-acting cylinder," where one side of the operation is performed by a spring. Additionally, the main components of the cylinder include a cylindrical cylinder tube, a piston that moves within the tube, and a piston rod that transmits the piston’s movement to the outside. However, since all these parts are made of metal, they cannot seal compressed air. The piston packing and rod packing move while maintaining a seal, so lubrication is necessary, and this is done with grease during assembly in the case of a non-lubricated cylinder. 【Double-acting Air Cylinder Structure (Excerpt)】 ■ Cushion Valve ■ Head Cover ■ Cylinder Tube ■ Piston ■ Cushion Ring *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
